I love reading. It’s one of my favorite things to do. If it’s a good book, it will keep me reading into the wee hours of the morning. In keeping with the Halloween themed series, here is my list of favorite ghost stories.

  • The Woman in White – Wilke Collins
  • The Haunting of Hill House – Shirley Jackson
  • The Legend of Sleepy Hollow – Washington Irving
  • The Canterville Ghost – Oscar Wilde
  • The Exorcist – William Peter Blatty
  • Taryn’s Camera (series) – Rebecca Patrick-Howard
  • Dracula – Bram Stoker
  • The Turn of the Screw – Henry James
  • Rebecca – Daphne Du Maurier
  • The Picture of Dorian Gray – Oscar Wilde
  • The Witches of Palmetto Point (series) – Wendy Wang
  • Ammie, Come Home – Barbara Michaels

What’s on your spooky reading list?

  1. Anything by Wendy Webb is sure to spook me. Also, Jennifer McMahon puts out a good creepy book consistently. For horror, which I don’t read much of, I turn to CJ Tudor. The twists and turns in her stories are truly amazing.

    • I’m not really a Wendy Webb fan, but perhaps I’ll try another book and see. I’ve never read anything by Jennifer McMahon, though the name is familiar to me. I’ll have a look! Thank you!
